My girls got their Halloween costumes about 2 months ago, so once the holiday hit they were disenchanted with the ones they chose... so they switched it up last minute. Maya was originally going to be a hippie and Hays a fairy. I loved these costumes - Maya has a real earth-first-peacy attitude, so it fit. Hays loved her costume, but we all knew she wouldn't be caught dead outside of the house with a frilly purple and black ensemble. We were right.
Aunt Katie came down for the weekend. Chloe warmed up to her after a little bit - we even got a half-smile out of her here...
The final costumes went a little something like this - Maya was the purple fairy, Hayley was Sally from Nightmare before Christmas, and I was Cruella DeVil with my little dalmation puppy, Chloe (she had a little hat with ears, but wouldn't wear it). The girls had fun trick-or-treating with their friends, and I had a great time looking like a dork all night long.
Halloween did not end there...
Velda and Ian had a rockstar themed Halloween party this year. I decided that I would be Hannah Montana because I a) think she is a terrific rock star and b) I'm just kidding, I hate her. The girls and I shopped in the teeny-bopper section for my clothes...my girls assured me that Hannah would NOT wear a shirt that said her name on it, but I was pretty sure that no one would know who I was dressed as if I didn't have the name on my shirt.
The wonders of make-up...
