As of late...

Time flies. Just when one sport ends, another begins and I have yet to blog about the last season. Here's to recaps!

Maya - 8th Grade Softball

Softball. Maya (on the left) played with her 8th grade team and they made it to championships. She played shortstop and was an awesome team leader. The games were super hot and I'm glad they are over (sorry, it's true).

Hayley -- Freshman Volleyball

Highschool volleyball was much different than the Jr. High games were. H seemed like she learned alot (check out that stance) and she enjoyed it. We tried really hard to get her to show some emotion out there as she likes to act like nothing bothers her and on the flip side she doesn't cheer much or do the silly ACE dances. She improved so much this year and her games were a lot of fun to watch. I know I'm biased because I love the sport so much, but it's fun to watch your kids play. I love it. I will try and post video...(I've been unsuccessful so far).

Both girls tried out for club volleyball this year. Maya is playing for Molten (14) and H is playing for Xtreme (16). This is their first year and I SO wish they could have played previous years but I've found that it is a) expensive; b) expensive and c) time consuming. They haven't begun tournaments yet...so they've just had practices this month. As things go around here, Hayley practices Mon/Wed, and Maya practices Tues/Thurs, so that makes for a very busy week. Maya has a close friend playing on he team as well, so her mom does some of the driving - which is really awesome. Hayley gets to go to a tournament in Colorado in February -- that will be a first, so we'll see how it goes! I'm excited to go with her (I just can't send her alone...maybe next year?) So far, the girls seem to like club. I am very impressed with their dedication and hard work. It's nice that H can play almost year round until next season begins at Higley. Maya is currently playing volleyball for Jr. High, and club volleyball....she is one busy/tired girl.
