The girls started school today (let me hear a collective sigh from the mommies)... I am glad that we've survived another summer and it's time to get back to normal. The girls were a bit nervous this morning... Hayley wanted me to walk to Maya's classroom and drop her off on the way but not actually stand by her or really acknowledge that I was her mom... Of course that all changed when we got there. Since it is a new school they are being very careful to follow all of the rules, especially the rule that no parents are allowed on campus unless they have a 'visitor' name tag. Since I wanted to walk the girls to to their rooms, I had to obtain a visitor pass. This meant we had to line up in a line of about 10,000 parents who apparently also wanted to walk their little darlings to class. We waited for a while and after finally receiving the coveted pass, we were able to enter their building. This is the first time the girls have ever attended a school with Jr High kids... up to the 8th grade... so they are pretty nervous. For some reason they think that anyone over 5 feet tall is a bully. We were able to find their classes with no problem and we said our good-byes. Maya's teacher seems pretty cool, they have to give high-5's while entering the classroom. I'm wondering if he is a certified teacher... maybe they were just running short and they had the P.E. dude fill in... it's too soon to tell.
Here's a picture of me at 18 weeks. I'm getting pretty big and it is getting harder to find things to wear. I'm going to have to break down and buy maternity clothes (yuck). I can't find any that I like... I may just wear gauchos all year long (double yuck). I think I'm already over the legal weight limit...
