We're all moved in!
The girls and I moved into our house last week. We were able to move in approximately one day with the HUGE help of my favorite people (even you ian). We LOVE the new house. The only down side thus far would be the terrible Alfred Hitchcock birds who inhabit the roof. Our entry way welcomes you with bird poop.
The first weekend here Maya wanted to introduce ourselves to the neighbors with some brownies. Good old Maya. I was a little surprised that she didn't ask them to recycle the plastic basket they were in. Our neighbors are sugary sweet, just the way we like them.
I think all the neighbors on the other sides try to close their garage doors before they even exit their vehicles. I also like those kinds of neighbors.
We are now in Queen Creek which means that we don't have to (get to) recycle. Maya already wrote a letter to the mayor about this issue. This was actually a sticking point to her when house hunting.... She's already labeled her bedroom door with "Reduce - Reuse -Recycle"... I really don't know where this kid came from. I'm having issues with my camera cord, so I don't have any pictures to post, but I'm sure there will be more to come. Velda let us borrow her cricut (vinyl lettering deally thing) so we can write whatever we want on the walls. That's right folks, anything I want. I am going to try and keep it friendly.
Unfortunately, before I can stick words to the walls, I need to repaint most of them. For some reason the previous owners liked fleshy colors like tan and pinky tan. The worst is my bathroom, which is a purple/mauve color. I hate painting, though, so the colors will have to stay for a while.
Ems came up to play with Chloe (aka babysit) this week so I can go into the office. I let her park her car in the extra one-car garage... I think a one-car garage is built to fit an Echo. That's about the only thing that will fit in there.
Thanks to all those who helped us out these past few weeks :) When you guys want to pack your house and move in a day, I'll be right there.

I love your new pad it already feels so homey (I mean that in a good way of course). We gotta have a painting party cause I can't wait to see the "your" writings on the wall!

Didn't know you guys were planning a move! Is it very far from your old place? Are the girls in a new school? I can't believe how big your girls are getting. Tell Maya that SD and Benson could use a little recycling too...
i slept there first! alone. with about 20 mosquitos feasting upon my warm flesh for the approximately 2.5 hours i actually closed my eyes.
i love your house. i mostly love that it's a testosterone-free environment.
heres to 16-foot moving trucks and a whole lot of caffeine...
Hey Mandy! Where in QC are you? We're out here, too! Check out our blog. Let us know if you need anything! Doesn't sound like you are too far away from us in Johnson Ranch! Val
