Well, you already looked, so now you're going to be as sick about it as I am. Chloe fell today off of a chair and somehow cut her ear. This actually looks *better* than it did earlier today! I didn't know that a) an ear could swell so much, b) an ear could bruise so instantly and c) that I'd be asking random neighbors advice about whether or not my baby needs stitches. And I haven't even had her ears pierced because I didn't want her to endure any unnecessary pain...or give her an entry site for infection. I suppose now that she's a whole 2 years old, I may need to get used to the idea that she's going to be brave and try to stand on a chair, get down from the chair all by her big self and fall.
GUILTY mommy.
I'm sure it will scar - which will add to the approximate 200 other scars she already has. This is one tough little kid. I'm pretty sure she could endure pretty much anything at this point...
GUILTY mommy.
If by tomorrow it doesn't look better than this, I suppose I will take her in to see about stitching/steri-stripping/gluing it. It seems that the past few times we've rushed to urgent care, it was not as urgent as it seemed. We'll see if I missed the urgency on this one.
GUILTY mommy.

Poor baby Chloe. Hope she feels better and so do you. I can't believe she is almost 2. Crazy.
i would say yes to having it glued. just because there's not a lot of excess skin on the ear...might take longer to heal if you don't.
burn your chairs.
:)
Poor little thing! Looks like it could've used stitches or glue. The edges are pretty well approximated, so she's a good candidate for glue. However, there is a window of time in which they like to put the edges together...usually less than 16 hours and 24 max. Of course, if you're feeling brave, you could try some glue or some steri-strips yourself!
That's what I was afraid of...We're taking her in today to see what can be done. It's like the one time I don't go rushing off to the doctor's office (we're regulars there) and she actually needs stitches. Great parenting. (thanks for the comment Janette - I wish you lived closer!)
You have nothing to feel guilty about. Seriously. I hope she feels better soon.
And scars add character. Chloe will have tons of character :)
