And it was Christmas

Christmas was a little different this year since the girls spent Christmas Eve with me and Christmas Day with their dad. This was a first for us. We decided to have our Christmas "day" on the 24th, which worked out great, except that Trey and Makelle were in Globe at Netta's (tradition). We stayed up late getting everything ready and waited for Santa to come and do the rest :)
Chloe's BIG present this year was a "Sparkly rainbow bike with a sparkly blue helmet." She said it just like that anytime we asked her what she wanted for Christmas. She also mastered all of the Christmas songs this year...Jingle Bell Rock being her favorite. When she first learned Rudolph the Red-nosed reindeer she would sing it way off key and get most of the words wrong. By the end of the season she was singing it perfectly ;)

For some reason when girls turn into teens they don't look directly at the camera. No time to do makeup maybe? Maya got a Polaroid camera (old schoooooool!) and makeup, clothes, etc. We knew she would be getting a phone from her dad, so her 'big' presents were more like a lot of little presents :)

This is Hayley's catchphrase...Anything and everything we say is usually responded with a "your mom." Hayley what do you want for lunch? Your mom. Hayley what time is volleyball practice? Your mom. Hayley your feet are super stinky today. Your mom. I thought it would be good if she had a shirt that said what she was thinking. It is about 10x too big for her, but it's the thought that counts. She also got a shirt that says "Gingers got soul" and "living the dream" which has a gamer on it (thank you very much Xbox). Hayley and Trey got their first Iphones, and Maya got an Iphone from her dad, so now we are *mostly* an apple family except that Tye is holding out (we'll see how long he lasts with that droid)

When making his Christmas list, Trey just asked for books. After wrapping his presents I felt a little bummed that he didn't get any toys (except for the Iphone, of course) so he also got an airsoft gun (or whatever they are called) Now when we see him we ask him how the reading is going. He got spanish/english and german/english dictionaries. We've been teasing him that now he'll be called to Russia on a mission. Or maybe Arkansas. ha.ha.ha.

On Christmas Eve (day) we drove up to Globe to hang out with Roy and Netta (Tye's parents). They have a family party every year and this is our second year to participate. We didn't get to stay very long due to the girls needing to get back home, so we left around 3:30 to come back home. About 30 minutes from home I blew a tire :( which was a first. After hours of waiting, trying to change the tire, turning away a cop and a tow truck, roadside finally got me (us at that point, Tye was there too) on my way after 3 hours. Boo on that Christmas Eve. The good thing was, I had just received a sweet furry/quilted vest for Christmas and it was actually cold enough to wear it :) (I sort of look like a quilted snowman)

Makelle got some clothes...and a laptop (sweeeeet)...jewelry, boots, the usual goods a girl wants. I'm sure she would not appreciate me putting this picture out there. Sorry Belle.

My photos were LAME this Christmas. I just didn't grab my camera...and when I did I obviously didn't aim very well. There's always next year...right?
