Oh my JONAS...

First Concert... Friday, July 11th, 2008
Cricket Pavilion

Upon arrival, we saw a sea of girls...girliness everywhere. TONS of "I heart Nick"... "Future Mrs. Nick Jonas" and even "Go Red for Nick" which I'm still trying to figure out. The girls (Hayley, Maya and Jayden) were a little intimidated by the SIZE of it all, but when they let us enter into the lower 100's level, the girls seemed a little more relieved and happy that we weren't stuck on the grassy knoll.
Some girl from the new 'Camp Rock' movie, Demi something or other opened. She wasn't all bad.
The girls did not want to miss a thing. At first, with the Demi-girl singing, it was loud, but not eardrum popping crazy decibel loud.
When it was time for the actual Jonas Brothers to come on, I wished that I had ear plugs. The boys sound amazing live, especially the cute one (we're all in a disagreement about which one is cute, I say Nick and some girls disagree).

We were lucky that we were somewhat close to the stage (row 20-something?) and that they had a sort of walk way from the stage to come out closer to the crowd. They sang a few acoustic-y songs out there. Nick sang his diabetes song with just the piano, and then gave this long speech about some girl named McKenzie that couldn't make it to the concert due to some sort of issue. (I'm guessing it was blood sugar related). I couldn't tell if Nick was getting teary or if he was just really sweaty. I'm pretty sure it was just sweat... either that or he's a great actor.

Demi whatever

I still don't know what this means...

If you look closely you can see the outline of the one Jonas brother no one knows (kevin?).

Hayley decided she likes him best, I think mostly just because no one else does. She couldn't remember what his side burns were called and she called them "hash browns." Kevin only plays the guitar and sings back up from time to time. The only person I feel worse for is the other little brother that isn't even in the band.

I told my girls that I wanted this to be their first concert so I can make fun of them later in life......and when someone says "who was your first concert?" They will have to answer "Jonas Brothers" at which time the askor will laugh and say "what was that in like 2008?" and my girls will feel really old. My sister's first concert was Donny Osmond. That's right... but not with Marie, it was post-Marie when he was doing the FAIR circuit....and if any of you know my sister, you also understand how funny that really is. It's always nice to pull out a little Donny Osmond when none of my other material is working...

Maya and Jayden screamed the ENTIRE time. Neither will have voices in the morning, I'm sure of it (sorry Mairsy!). I've been to a lot of concerts but never have I been to one that was so incredibly loud. My ears are still ringing and it's 2 a.m.

It was quite entertaining...the boys do all sorts of acrobatics, flipping and jumping and stuff. I was a little afraid someone was going to get hurt up there. After all was said and done, I was really glad that I didn't sell the tickets on Ebay.

My first concert was Bone Thugz 'n Harmony. I won them on the radio after I graduated high school. I would be fine if my kids don't go to their first concert till after they graduate high school, too! You are a cool mom!
